What We’re All About

A little about me.  I am the host  - my name is Marilee Masternick.  I have been in senior healthcare since I graduated college so its just apart of my life and forever will be.  I have worked in skilled nursing facilities, assisted livings, independent livings and I currently own a private duty home, a placement agency that also does care management and a staffing company.  I pretty much know every facet of senior healthcare. 

Because of my experiences and background I have helped a lot of families.  I tend to be a person that people will also just call or text if they need quick help and advice.  I can’t even tell you how many people I have talked to over the years just giving them advice. I was always hearing from these families that senior healthcare can be so confusing.  And its so true.  There are so many different levels of care, options, ways to pay, etc.  Its really cumbersome.  

And the person that is actually needing the care isn’t always the one exploring, researching and coordinating the care.   In most cases its their kids - you!  We are going to explore senior healthcare in all different ways.  Each episode I will have a guest and we will pick a topic and do a deep dive.  It will range from the different levels of care, moms in the hospital - now what?  how do I pick an Assisted Living, Who pays for all of this?Every October is open enrollment what does that even mean? Does mom or dad have Medicare?  How to be a good advocate because that’s ultimately what you want.  We will take questions from our listeners so we make sure to cover earthing you want in our short time together.
